As a fellow pro finisher, I’d like to thank you for your accurate tutorial on how to lacquer furniture. A client of mine wants me to teach her. I thought I’d google it to see what people are reading on the internet. Good grief! I can’t believe that Amy Howard is telling people to do a whole dresser with spray paint. Your finger would paralyzed not to mention the lap lines that happen because of a small spray pattern. And there is no mention of the reality of 80% prep, 10% paint, 10% wool wax and buff. Poor DIYers. More work for us I suppose. I look forward to following you in the future.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

I have a coffee table and a wood dresser that I would like to make distressed. I saw your pieces. Would like to know if I can get am estimate for my two pieces. I have an idea in terms of the color scheme I would like. Thank you.

Hi Deana ~ I live in Massachusetts and have hand painting furniture for about a year now. I’d like to purchase a spray gun and was hoping you could suggest a brand that would accommodate regular acrylic paint, milk and chalk paints. I appreciate your feedback very much. Thank you! Brenda from MA (The Painted Past)

Hi Brenda, I use a Husky HVLP gravity feed gun. I have successfully used it with chalk paint, never tried it with milk paint, and it works great with all the acrylic paints that I use. I have had trouble with some of the lower quality acrylic paints not spraying well, such as Behr and Valspar, but when using professional paints, which I do exclusively now, it works great. My favorite brand is Sherwin Williams, but Benjamin Moore and Dunn Edwards paints work really beautifully in this gun too.

    Hi
On YouTube I viewed your video of “How to refinish a mahogany tabletop”. You said to go to your website for instructions but I found none.
Would you please e-mail me the instructions?
    Thanks,
    Bob
