 | My name is Deana. My mom, Connie, and I are the owners of Alchemy. Our boutique is the culmination of years of antiquing, a passion for interior design and a true love of sewing and creating. In this store we combine all of our favorite things to create a truly unique selection, that range from antique, new and hand crafted gift and home furnishing items. |
We also offer several useful services; custom sewing, furniture repair and painting, and in home design consultations.
I have taken courses at the local community college to hone my natural inclination toward interior design; fabric selections, color choices and furniture placement were the focus. I worked closely with Kimberly Kostka, an interior designer, for nearly two years. She has worked for companies such as, the Olson Company, staging their model homes and helping new homeowners select appropriate upgrades, for instance, flooring and window coverings. My experience with her furthered my knowledge as a designer and expanded my portfolio.
My mom has taken numerous courses on furniture repair and restoration, as well as, woodworking. She has over forty years of experience as a seamstress and almost as many years as an upholsterer. Her perfectionism and attention to detail ensures that every piece of furniture we work on is retuned to our clients better than new and every item we sew is of exceptional quality. When it comes to upholstery and custom sewn designs stripes are always matched and patterns flawlessly line up at all of the seams, we settle for nothing shy of perfection.
