Brown painted dresser

This highboy dresser was in pretty bad condition. The old finish was dingy, stained and in desperate need of a makeover. The dresser is for a little boys nursery, so we chose brown, a nice masculine color. We sanded this dresser like crazy before painting it with a few coats of brown paint. We wanted some wood to show through, so after painting it we distressed it a bit. We left the hardware as it was because we liked the contrast it created.

Since we know little boys like to touch, hit, and climb on things we finished it with a coat of paste wax to protect the finish. It should be a piece that he can enjoy for many years to come.
