Painted white
I just finished painting this cute little nightstand white. The previous owner must have used it for a radio or TV because there was a hole cut out of the back of it. I removed the back and I kinda think it looks cute open, but I also kinda think it looks like it’s missing something. I was throwing around the idea of covering the back in burlap or maybe chicken wire. What do you think? Any ideas how to finish this piece??

Beadboard
maybe just a wicker basket for magazines? you could put chicken wire. or a rod with some little burlap curtains
Love it..how about using a board on the back, painting it in the same finish, but on the inside attach a vintage finish mirror cut to the exact size…this would give a glamourous touch to the unit, and reflect whatever is placed inside…
oooh!! I love all of your suggestions. You ladies have made this a tough decision for me.
I like the nightstand shape and color you did a great job! I like it open I think is very cute it would be perfect just with some old books or a wicker basket…I also would like to close the back and use a wood board painted in a different color for some contrast…or just painted white and decorated with some handwriting words…
