I love silver, but not the super shiny polished silver, my favorite are the time worn pieces that are tarnished beyond the point of no return. I find so much beauty in the imperfection of a silver tea pot that has been well loved over the many years of its life; copper peeking out from under the silver plated surface.

My collection consists of candle sticks, salt & pepper shakers, tea pots and coffee pots. Each is tarnished, many are mismatched and that is just the way I like it. They sit beautifully in a white cabinet, each telling a different story.

I like to imagine all of the wonderful history that each one holds. Maybe one of these tea pots was used at a grand table to serve hot tea to royal guests as they nibbled on scones. Maybe one of the candle sticks sat on the alter of a beautiful Catholic church, lit by rays of sunshine that filtered through the stained glass windows.

My imagination runs wild when I look at these little pieces of history.

How sentimental to dream about the previous homes of your possessions. I love silver and often keep it unpolished to show its aged patina. Your pitcher and tea pot have such character and beauty. Keep dreaming…..
