My name is Deana. I come from a long line of talented women who have studied the art of sewing and upholstery beginning at the turn of the 18th century. I am the fourth generation to learn and practice this trade. It has been a passion of mine since I was a child watching, wide eyed, as my mom and grandmother would transform lifeless furniture into gorgeous pieces that became better than new. I learned from the time I could walk to enjoy spending hours at the fabric store ogling over fabric; the textures, the colors, the beauty and the possibilities have always intrigued me.

Alchemy can be defined as a power or process of transforming something common into something special; an inexplicable or mysterious transmuting. My mom and I use our sewing machines, talent and creativity to transform fabrics one stitch at a time. Turning fabric into gorgeous custom designs for the home, such as, pillows, draperies, slipcovers and bedding, is truly our passion.

We also offer furniture painting. Allow us to dramatically change the appearance of any old piece of furniture with a fresh coat of paint. Furniture painting, repairs, and faux finishes are another of our many creative talents that are made available through our store front.
